Volume XC, “European Security / La sécurité européenne”
This publication includes the proceedings of the 2007 EGPL Annual Conference. It features an examination of European Security through the evaluation of security policies on the national and European level, presenting simultaneously an assessment of the degree of European integration. It includes an analysis on how a more coordinated and coherent European policy on security is being ratified in the proposals for the new Treaty of the European Union while the resources of European Security are examined in terms of the regulatory framework, organisational arrangements, administrative powers and the instruments of individual protection. Which is the place of the Member States in the European area of Security? Can the Member State be a state subject to the rule of law by meeting its obligation to execute European Security measures? These are some of the questions addressed in this book.
