ALFA (América Latina - Formación Académica) is a regional cooperation programme funded by the European Commission and aimed at reinforcing ties between the European Union and Latin America through the exchange of experiences and the creation of networks. The ALFA II DIKIA II Project “Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights of Citizens: The European and American Conventions on Human Rights” aims at developing the institutional cooperation and the scientific and technical training within the Higher Education Institutions of the European Union and Latin America. The overall ambition of the Project is to foster cooperation among those institutions by promoting an in-depth dialogue on the theory and practices related to the protection of Human Rights.
The results of this project have been published in two consecutive volumes of the European Public Law Series.
Volume XCIV (Vol. B) consists of a collection of some of the contributions of professors and academics who made the good implementation of the Project possible. The presentation of these academic contributions is meant to serve as a training instrument for professionals in the field of Human Rights, as well as a source of information for all those interested in the protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms both in Europe and Latin America.
