This chronicle deals with the Slovak experience in the semi-presidential system as introduced by the 1999 Amendment to the Constitution. It is divided into two parts. In the first part, it explains the origins of semi-presidentialism in Slovakia and examines the constitutional powers of the President. The second part analyzes two recent cases of the use of the power of appointment by President I. Gašparovič.
Cette chronique traite de l'expérience slovaque en matière du système semi-présidentiel tel qu'il a été introduit par la modification de la Constitution datée de l'année 1999. La chronique est divisée en deux parties. La première partie explique les origines du système semi-présidentiel en Slovaquie et examine les pouvoirs constitutionnels du Président. La seconde partie analyse deux affaires récentes d'utilisation du pouvoir de nomination par le Président I. Gašparovič.
