On 14.10.2010 the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus enacted the Municipalities (Amendment) (No. 2) Law 2010 and the Communities Law of 1991-2010. Following this, the President of the Republic referred to the Supreme Court for its opinion on the question of the compliance of these amending Laws with the Constitution and with the principle of the separation of powers. This short chronicle presents a summary of the majority opinion of the Supreme Court of Cyprus with regard to these references.
Le 14 octobre 2010 la Chambre des représentants de la République de Chypre a adopté la Loi sur les Municipalités (Modification) (no. 2) de 2010 et la Loi sur les Collectivités de 1991-2010. Le Président de la République a ensuite saisi la Cour Suprême pour son avis sur la conformité de ces Lois modificatrices avec la Constitution et avec le principe de la séparation des pouvoirs. Cette brève chronique présente un résumé de l'opinion majoritaire de la Cour Suprême de Chypre eu égard à ces renvois.
