The present article discusses about the Criminal Law of Georgia on sexual offences, judgments of the domestic courts as well as appropriate statistical information related to the rape crimes. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the main developments in the Georgian Criminal Law. Therefore, the author argues the importance of the amendments in the Criminal Code of Georgia in order to comply with the international standards, especially with the European Convention on Human Rights. Finally, information on the results of a survey about the public awareness on sexual offences is provided. In addition, it was an aim of the survey to know what people think about sexual offences in general.
