The Slovak national report refers to the most important legal instruments and provisions guaranteeing the principle of solidarity in Slovakia. Article 12 of the Slovak Constitution is the starting point of the legal analysis. The legal order of the Slovak Republic grants traditional social benefits such as minimum wage and subsistence wage, the aim of which is to ensure a dignified life for people in the Slovak Republic and to make sure that they are able to satisfy their needs for food, clothes, accommodation and the other basic human needs. The pensions, maternity benefits, sickness benefits, disability benefits, etc. are other typical examples of social securities. This national report evaluates the level of sufficiency and the level of misuse of the main social securities.
