From ancient times religion played decisive role in the life of the societies and constitutes part of their culture and tradition. For these reasons the Institute N. Svoronos for Humanities and Culture organized in 2018 three cycles of speeches concerning this subject. The motive was the Law 4301/2014 about religious communities which exist in Greece. These cycles had the following subjects: 1) The religious communities in Greece: greek and European legislative frame, 2) Legislation and European reality concerning greek religious special matters (f. ex. the Holy Mountain), 3) Relations of State and Church and their European dimension. Covid-19 intervened and so this programme was completed in 2024. The last meeting had the title “Religious phenomenon and public sphere: case-law and practical representations”. The speakers were distinguished scientists who as researchers, professors, judges, lawyers have worked especially on these subjects. We have chosen some representative of these speeches and publish them in the European Journal of History and Culture.
