In this contribution, the author tries to convey the general message of this stimulating conference, the struggle between social and State discipline and free speech. The balance between the two is never easy to strike. This clash is certainly not new but current challenges are giving the question a new light, namely the increasing privatization of the public space: this privatization is characterized by the importance of social networks and the privatization of the public forum in cities.
Dans cette contribution, l’auteur essaye de transmettre le message général de cette conférence stimulante, la lutte entre la discipline sociale et étatique et la liberté d’expression. Il n’est jamais facile de trouver l’équilibre entre les deux. Ce conflit n’est certainement pas nouveau mais les défis actuels apportent un éclairage nouveau à la question, à savoir la privatisation croissante de l’espace public: cette privatisation est caractérisée par l’importance des réseaux sociaux et la privatisation de l’espace public dans les villes.
