The years of 2010 and 2011 were quite intense as to the Portuguese Constitutional Court's activity. There were several changes in the Court's composition, and very important matters were analyzed, leading to a bulk of relevant and sometimes controversial constitutional decisions. Subjects like voluntary interruption of pregnancy, homosexual marriage, tax retroactivity, freedom to exercise a profession, private property protection, and others, were brought before the Court, in sensible social areas and with important practical consequences.
