European Journal of History and Culture

SCOPE: The European Journal of History and Culture constitutes an initiative of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO – www.eplo.int), operating through its Institute for Humanities and Culture “Nicos Svoronos” which was established to promote research and training in the areas of administrative, financial, judicial, defense, religious, cultural affairs and international relations, as well as the arts, music, archeology and popular culture.

The European Journal of History and Culture starts as a bi-annual publication of the EPLO (Office in Rome) seeking to address key issues and current scientific discussions. The approved papers will be disseminated without delays and risk of becoming obsolete. To that end, the European Journal of History and Culture is published both online and in print form (a limited number of printed copies) so that each issue appears in a timely manner and with a content of variable extent, each time according to the contributions at hand.

AIMS: The European Journal of History and Culture aims to receive support from academics and other experts from all over the world and, ultimately, to unite everyone under a common umbrella guided by outstanding scientific standards.

History and Culture is the Journal’s general area and will serve as a platform for interdisciplinary exploration, fostering discussions about the past and its influence on the present and the future. The European Journal of History and Culture encompasses a wide range of sub-areas and topics with a view to a comprehensive understanding of these subjects, analyzing historical and cultural phenomena across different places and time periods in order to identify commonalities, differences and broader trends.

At the same time, the European Journal of History and Culture has been conceived to prioritize issues pertaining to the widest possible geographical area of the Eastern Mediterranean, where the ancient civilizations which are now represented in the so-called Greco-Roman civilization were born, in a dialogue with all the cultures of all nations, throughout the centuries.

Against this background, the Journal invites contributions that can be submitted in eight languages: English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. The unifying element of the Journal shall be guaranteed by well-prepared abstracts in English.

The European Journal of History and Culture appeals to everyone who feel that they have something to contribute to the understanding of History and Culture, inviting them to submit their work to it for review and publication. It pledges to be an open, objective and unbiased edition which is not based on pre-conceptions, dogmatic understandings and an exclusionary logic.
