Mónica García Sáenz graduated in Law. She holds a specialisation in legal economics from the University of Deusto (Spain). She holds a Master’s degree in public management from the Institute of Fiscal Studies and the School of Industrial Organization (Spain). She has been a State Financial Comptroller and Auditor since 2003 and an Inspector of the Economic and Treasury Services since 2019. She has been General Director of Budgetary Stability and Territorial Financial Management (Ministry of Finance) since 2021 and was Director of Finance and IT Systems of the State Business SEGIPSA (2017-2021). She was a member of the Audit Commission of the European Space Agency (2011-2015), acting as the Chairwoman in 2014. She has developed international collaborations with Azerbaijan (2017-2018), Algeria (2016-2017) and Ecuador (2014-2015).
